Japanese lanterns, colorful partitions and mood lighting do such a masterful job of creating ambience at Chopstix Gourmet Sushi Bar that you’ll forget you’re in a strip-mall eatery in the Honeygo Village Center. Authentic ethnic is the goal, and Chopstix succeeds both at both the sushi bar and an inviting dining room. Sushi and sashimi come in standard wrappings — think cucumber, eel, spicy lobster, bean curd, squid and mackerel — though platters and entrees are available. Specialty rolls include soft shell crab, Maryland sea king (shrimp, scallop, cream cheese and marinated crab meat) and dynamite (salmon, tuna and whitefish topped with a spicy sauce). Chinese dishes at Chopstix are categorized by main ingredient: chicken (with cashew nuts, pineapple, Szechuan or Hunan style), seafood (spicy shrimp, squid in garlic sauce, Hunan scallops), beef (with snow peas, peppers and onions, mixed vegetables or swimming in garlic sauce), pork (sweet and sour, sliced and spicy with bamboo shoots or shredded Peking-style). Chow mein, noodles and fried rice are familiar and friendly, while the kitchen turns out sizzling plates of sesame tofu, bean curd and black mushrooms and sauteed spinach. Super meals bring diners soup, an appetizer and an entree at three price levels.

“You can’t really go wrong,” I wrote in my 2008 review of this pretty restaurant located in the Honeygo Village Center. The menu of Japanese and Chinese favorites has much to recommend, but don’t pass up one of the house’s “sizzling specialities.” A second location operates in Forest Hill.

A great local asian restaurant. The sushi is always fresh, and the quality is consistent every single time, with a very friendly staff and reasonable pricing.

I come here quite often and that’s because the food and service is excellent! There prices are better than any other Chinese restaurant around and they give you enough food so that you can take some home for lunch the next day. I highly recommend this place!!

We have been going to Chopsticks since they opened, (chopstix # 28 & 29) and have always been pleased. The food is great, and the staff has always made us feel at home.

Tried Chopstix last night for the first time. I was thrilled with the experience. Service is excellent, did not have to request refills on my beverage, food was pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. The menu offers something for every taste. I highly recommend Chopstix.

Chopstick is my family’s favorite restaurant. The menu is so vast everyone can find a special something that they will love. The Sushi is the very freshest available. It is made by true artists, not only an indulgence for the palate but an imaginative treat for the eyes as well. The staff is amazing… starting with the owners, Chen & Jessica and including all of the staff; they are kind, thoughtful, helpful and friendly. The delicious appetizers, soups and salads, main courses and creative desserts make Chopsticks a very special gift for lucky Marylanders.

I have been going to Chopstix’s for about 2yrs now. I go there about once a week or so. I LOVE it! The Sushi is always great! The Service is always great! People are VERY friendly too.
The wait times are decent for a restaurant in the White Marsh area.

A++ from me!

I will say with absolute certainty that Chopstix has the most amazing Americanized Chinese/Japanese food that money can buy. Not only is the atmosphere comfortable but the service is OUTSTANDING. I have since moved to another county, but without a doubt, will drive the hour for some delicious favorites!

can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is always great, the environment is always inviting and the people are always wonderful. Everyone we have taken there agrees, so don’t think about it if you haven’t been here yet, just go.

We have visited Chopstix numerous times in the past two years, and we have never left dissatisfied! All of the dishes we have enjoyed from the Chinese-American side of the menu have been flavorful and pleasing to the eye. Service is generally good, and it is nice to be able to BYOB. Having moved to Bel Air from NYC many years ago, we have always been disappointed with neighborhood Asian eateries and carryouts. Grease and cornstarch–Yuk! At Chopstix, nothing has been greasy and many sauces appear to be thickened by reduction rather than by overuse of thickeners. Whats more, sauces in various dishes are distinctive. You can be fairly certain that each dish you order will have a different taste and texture.

We’re thrilled that the owners have expanded to the Bel Air area, and we are looking forward to our first visit at the new location.

Simply the BEST Fried Rice in Maryland!!! The rest of the food and service is great too, but I would go continue dining here for the Fried Rice alone.

This is my favorite place ever! When I moved to Bel Air I was devastated that I missed out on Chopstix. Now, with one in Forest Hill I am complete. Everyone is always friendly and helpful and I’ve never had anything less than awesome! Well, ok, I did once–a special roll–and they replaced it immediately. 2 Thumbs up. 5 stars!
